Sound Thought 2019 — [Urban Conversations with Sound]

Have you ever experienced walking with your ears? How do you perceive urban surroundings through sound? In our one-hour workshop at Sound Thought 2019, we explored the concept of mindful sound walks. Participants annotated their walking paths with sonic memories, creating personal maps of urban soundscapes.

Organized by Katerina Talianni and Roxana Karam, this workshop was our second collaborative effort focusing on geotagged sonic mapping. Our initial workshop analyzed sonic and visual affects through passive responses quantified as numeric values, deepening our exploration of sensory urban experience.
